Romulus Folio Gallery is proud to announce Fusion, an exhibition featuring Melbourne-based artist, sculptor, and designer, Mark Alexander, whose practice bridges the worlds of fine art, bespoke furniture, and luxury interior design.
Alexander's work reimagines the French parquetry tradition, that intricate art of geometric wood inlay once reserved for grand interiors, as a living language of contemporary form. His handcrafted dining tables and carved timber sculptures share a striking dialogue: precision and rhythm meeting warmth and intuition. Each work is built from natural materials but shaped with an artist's sensibility, revealing beauty as an act of construction rather than decoration.
In Fusion, Alexander dissolves the boundaries between sculpture and design, inviting viewers to encounter structure as poetry. The exhibition explores how geometry, balance, and craftsmanship can become expressions of emotion and thought, where a table becomes a landscape, and timber becomes movement, harmony, and form.
