LAB-14 is the first phase of the Carlton Connect Initiative presence at the former Royal Women's Hospital site in Carlton.
Within one year of opening, we have about 270 people working on site - in computing through to creative spaces for artists.
LAB-14 is a small scale demonstration site where the beginnings of the bigger picture of an innovation precinct are seeding well.
CCI invites leaders and communities of people to LAB-14 to be part of a distinctive and accessible events program.
The talks and seminars we curate have common characteristics: they bring complex ideas to life through the prism of innovation and discovery, firing the imagination of our leaders and communities.
How does light play connect artists to scientists? How has the concept of invisbility shaped scientific thinking through mystery, and new technologies?
These are just some of the questions that have been asked at CCI events where inspired authors, academics and creative thinkers share ideas and engineer solutions with contributors - discovering ways to make seemingly impossible things achievable.
