Good Friday Appeal 2020
The 89th annual Good Friday Appeal on Friday 10th April 2020, brings together the community to raise money for the Royal Children's Hospital.
The strength of the appeal lies in the thousands of volunteers who give freely of their time and their talent. Many groups and organisations fundraise throughout the year, in order to publicly present their grand totals during a live telethon broadcast by Channel 7 on Good Friday.
The Channel 7 telethon is an opportunity for people to view the miracles performed at the hospital, to ring through their donations, and in many instances hear their contribution acknowledged publicly.

Good Friday Appeal 2019
The Herald Sun Digital Edition: THANK YOU, VICTORIANS
CHILDREN emptied their piggy banks, one baked 900 cupcakes and another collected bags of sheep poo to sell at a roadside stall.
Tin rattlers staked their claims on the same intersections where many have stood collecting coins for decades. Country towns got inventive with egg hunts, boot camps and rounds of golf to support one of their own needing medical care far from home.
All efforts big and small were made in the name of supporting our tiniest and most vulnerable patients. Victorians were again generous in their support of the Good Friday Appeal.
Yesterday's 88th appeal just pipped last year's $18million, with a record $18,175,467 at midnight.
Regional towns that led the charge included Wangaratta , which raised at least $66,000, Ballarat, which pulled in more than $45,000, and Dookie, with a population of 328 people, where more than $34,000 was raised. In the Henley and Villawood Properties No Reserve Auction of the house that goodwill and kindness built, $761,000 went straight to the appeal after a bidding war between three families.
The Kick for the Kids between North Melbourne and Essendon at Marvel Stadium led the other headline fundraiser yesterday.
The tens of thousands of runners who pounded the pavement in the Herald Sun/Transurban Run for the Kids helped raise $1.5 million.
Other big cheques came from Cadbury ($138,000), the RCH Auxiliaries ($1.424 million), Costco ($130,625), Ritchies supermarkets ($29,000), and $65,000 from Racing Victoria's All-Star Mile.
Tens of thousands of families flocked to the Kids Day Out at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre to enjoy live music, carnival rides and even an ice rink.
But children at the RCH weren't forgotten. They received visits from the Australian Ballet School, Lort Smith pet therapy dogs, super-sized cartoon characters , AFL football clubs and - most importantly the Easter Bunny.
Anaya Yadav, 2, is a frequent visitor to the RCH after being diagnosed with a brain tumour last year.
She is spending Easter at the RCH because of a collapsed lung.
Mum Preeti said the hospital had tended to her family's emotional needs, as well as her daughter's medical care.
"I don't have words for what they have done for us," Ms Yadav said. "I could never have expected they could give us so much care, love and support. The social workers called us straight after the diagnosis, and they keep calling to ask what they can do to help. That's so important because all our family is in India."
Penny Fowler, chairman of the Herald & Weekly Times, thanked Victorians for supporting the appeal in their own unique ways.
"I have so many fantastic memories of the Good Friday Appeal," Ms Fowler said. "I love coming to the hospital every year, I really enjoy the convention centre Kids Day Out, seeing the patients, teddy bear hospital . It's all really exciting."
