Gleadell Street Market
Every Saturday, Gleadell Street is transformed into a fresh food market, with seasonal fruits & vegetables, fresh bread, flowers, and other delights.
Enthusiastic stallholders begin arriving as early as 2am to set up their stalls. Why not come along, meet the growers, enjoy the friendly service and sample some of Melbourne's freshest produce?
Opening hours
The market is open 7am to 1pm every Saturday except Easter Saturday, Anzac day and two Saturdays over the Christmas period.
Stallholders are allowed to use biodegradable bags only and must not have them on display.
Plastic Bag-Free
The market is plastic-free, so remember to bring your reusable shopping bag to carry your purchases.
The market originally operated in Highett Street, Richmond opening in 1873 with the tradition of farmers travelling to Richmond to sell their fresh produce which continues today.
