Geelong's Floating Christmas TreeGeelong's Floating Christmas Tree

9 November 2024 to 5 January 2025 - TBC
Floating Christmas Tree Sound and Light Show
Steampacket Quay - Wadawurrung Country, Eastern Beach Road, Waterfront Geelong

Geelong's famous 10-tonne floating Christmas Tree and free sound and light show will run every 15 minutes from 8:30pm to midnight every night until January 2025 (to align with Orthodox Christmas). The display lasts for six minutes.

The tree is 25 metres tall, four-metres wide and gently rotates with the wind direction. It is made up of 400 LED lights and 25,000 reflective discs and moored at Steampacket Quay, Waterfront Geelong, near the Carousel.

This is the 11th year of Geelong's Floating Christmas Tree!

Family-Friendly Sound and Light Show

Every Saturday in December

Following opening night, the six-minute Floating Christmas Tree Sound and Light Show will be staged each night from 8.30pm until midnight, running every 15 minutes.

Family-friendly shows will be staged on Saturdays in December commencing at 5:30pm, to give families and those not wanting to be out after dark the opportunity to enjoy the show at an earlier timeslot.

Special thanks to our Floating Christmas Tree sponsors, GeelongPort. The team at GeelongPort provides safe storage and assembly space every year. As you can imagine the space required is rather large and the assistance of Geelong Port is essential.

This is a free event
