* Frankston Waterfront Festival 2019 *
Saturday 16 February and Sunday 17 February 2019. Frankston Waterfront, Frankston. Cost: FREE with costs for rides, food and amusements Location: 7N Pier Promenade, Frankston Waterfront, Frankston VIC 3199 This much-loved community event attracts residents and visitors to the sun-soaked beach at the Frankston Waterfront with 2 spectacular days of live music beach and water sports market stalls delicious food wine cider and craft beer. The Waterfront Festival is a fantastic day of fun and excitement for people of all ages showcasing Frankston's iconic Waterfront and celebrating Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula's food, wine, craft beer, arts, culture and musicians. Enjoy live music across the weekend, get involved in a plethora of free interactive activities and indulge in great food, wine, beer and cider while you dance the weekend away in the sunshine. Peruse the market stalls showcasing locally and handmade products and experience a thrill with rides and amusements for all ages. There is no better way to spend a summer's weekend then by the bay, with good friends, great food and memorable entertainment. Festival Activities Food Truck Square and Festival Dining Always a highlight of the Festival and sure to please. Our food trucks will bring a variety of flavours to the Festival from across the globe. A detailed list of food trucks will be available closer to the festival. Fireworks Display Enjoy the colourful spectacular of the fireworks display on Saturday 16 at 9.45pm. The Garden Bar What better way to spend the day? Kick back on the grass, grab some bubbles, a brew or cider and soak up the sounds of some of Melbourne's hottest live music acts as you watch the sun set over the Bay. Roving Entertainers Always keep an eye out at the Waterfront Festival, you never know where one of our Festival entertainers might pop up. Be prepared to see some super human skills and if asked to join in the action make sure you do! Free Activities Get your groove on in the silent disco, smash some pins at Strike Bowling, or get down to nature with our marine touch tank. Rides and Amusements Thrill seekers and daredevils alike, be prepared to ride the night away. You will always know where the rides and amusements are, the sound of gleeful screams and laughter can be heard all weekend. Landmark Lawn and Lounge Need a rest from all the festivities? We have a chill out lounge area with space to sprawl out and take in the entire festival. The Waterfront Festival Market The Waterfront Festival Market takes over McCoombes Reserve and Craft Markets Australia will make sure you don't go home empty handed. Featuring handmade items from across the state. Art, Craft and Creations At Mechanics Institute, 1N Plowman Place, Frankston. We go creative crazy at the Mechanics Institute over the festival weekend. If you have an eye for art, this will appeal to your heart. Peninsula Arts Society find works from local artists and if you like what you see, you can add as many pieces as you desire to your art collection. The Beach and Beyond The Beach will be open from 11am-6pm daily. There is plenty to see and do with our Beach and Beyond activities, from water sports and activities to fun in the sand -so don't forget your bathers. Try your hand at an activity you haven't tried before like snorkelling, stand up paddle boarding, sailing or scuba diving. Getting to the Festival The Waterfront Festival is an accessible event Accessible unisex toilets Pram and wheelchair accessible pathways Accessible parking around the City centre and the event is accessible by Public Transport Parking Please note The Waterfront Festival will occupy the South and North of the Waterfront and Kananook boat ramp car parks from midnight Friday 15 February until midnight Monday 18 January, 2019. Parking will be limited in the immediate area surrounding the Festival, please take this into consideration when planning your visit. We suggest Public Transport if possible. Public Transport Visit the Public Transport Victoria website for timetables and to plan your journey. From Frankston Station take the 772 bus to Pier Promenade, Frankston. Alternatively, catch a taxi or Uber from the train station (approx. 1.3km).
