We are an ethical organic food store and cafe created with the community's health and well being in mind.
We provide a people-friendly shopping and cafe environment where you can relax and purchase as little or as much as you need to minimise cost and food waste.
You can shop, enjoy your cuppa and freshly prepared organic meals here with a clear conscience knowing that you are contributing to an environmental movement.
We stock bulk whole food and a selection of local, organic bio-dynamic and gluten free vegetarian/vegan products. Our cafe meals are cooked daily with care and love.
Every item we sell has been selected based on its nutritional value, ethics and ecological sustainability.
We source products and produce locally as much as possible. We have been plastic bag free for over 40 years; to help cut down packaging and waste, please bring your own jars, bottles, containers and shopping bags.
The Food Co-op is a social enterprise of Friends of the Earth Melbourne (FoE), a not-for-profit community-driven environmental organisation that advocates and campaigns for a safe, clean and socially just environment for now and for the future. Our products and meals are palm-oil and GMO-free. You can be our volunteer and a 4-hour shift will earn you a scrumptious organic meal and a 15% discount on your purchases at the Co-op.
