The Fine Arts Network (FAN) supports and promotes a range of events and publications related to Art History and Visual Arts in Melbourne.
FAN organises:
-:- Public lectures including: The Joseph Burke Lecture; The Margaret Manion Lecture; The Postdoctoral Lecture; and international visiting lecturers
-:- Art History conferences and symposia
-:- Social events, including dinners with notable visitors
-:- Gallery Crawls, Walking Tours, Artists Talks and Conversations with Curators and Artists
-:- Floor Talks at the National Gallery of Victoria and other galleries
-:- Visits to 'hidden' collection not normally open to the general public
Publications:
-:- Melbourne Art Journal, a regular journal devoted to scholarly art-historical research
-:- e-maj, an online art history journal with a focus on the work of postgraduate and early career researchers
The Fine Arts Network is run by a group of volunteers from a variety of backgrounds.
