Self-described as a disco, eating house and beer hall, Cookie manages to walk the fine line between the three and be all things to all people.
Venturing to Cookie after five o'clock, you will be greeted at the top of the bluestone staircase by a sea of business suits and bustling nightlife as the corporate crowd slowly but surely make their way through the 85-plus imported beers available. However, in between the corporate lunches and after work drinks you will find a quirky little venue that manages to do justice to the fantastic Thai fusion food that head chef Karen Batson creates in her more mainstream kitchen.
It's not the jaunty, tapas-style Thai you're likely to see from Batson's other projects, but one taste of the deep-fried marinated pork ribs or the dry red curry with seafood and all complaints will cease.
