Clay Target Shooting Experience in Carrum Downs

Most sessions are hosted by Adam Vella, an Olympic bronze medallist, four-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist and former national high performance shotgun coach with the Australian shooting team.

The experience begins with a safety briefing and an introduction to the shotguns used during the session. Participants are then guided through the basic techniques needed to track and break clay targets flying across the range.

A qualified instructor remains alongside each participant as they shoot from different stations. The program includes a variety of single and double targets, allowing first-time shooters to build confidence and improve their coordination throughout the session.

No previous shooting experience or firearms licence is required.

What is included

The $135 session includes professional instruction, firearms, ammunition, clay targets and the required safety equipment.

Session duration ranges from approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes, depending on final participant numbers. Guests should arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled start time, and advance bookings are required.

Location and availability

Sessions are held on selected Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in Carrum Downs, about 15 minutes from the Mornington Peninsula and approximately 40 minutes from Melbourne's CBD.

Under section 3 of the Firearms Act 1996, anyone deemed a prohibited person cannot participate in or attend the experience.
