Now that the V/line Train Service is operating on the Melbourne to Castlemaine line again, patrons can enjoy two very different railway experiences in one day.
Travel from Melbourne ( or intervening stations ) on the modern V/Line Trains to Castlemaine - where you can transfer to a wonderfully contrasting railway experience with an authentic steam era journey to Maldon - returning to Castlemaine in time to catch the V/Line train back to Melbourne.
