February 2026 marks the 17th anniversary of the 2009 Victorian Bushfires which was one of the most significant disasters Victoria has experienced.

Each year we remember the horrific day on Saturday 7th February 2009 when fire claimed 173 human lives and destroyed over 2,000 homes.

The Black Saturday fires were responsible for 5,000 injured people, killed countless animals and burnt over 4,500 square kilometers of land.
