Birds of Paradise - a story of songs for the spaces between

From 2023 Best Music winner Milly Moon comes a new collection of tales dark dreamy and downright delightful.
Following her debut show 'Walking Songs - a story of songs from te araroa' the eclectic mind and soul-searing voice of Milly Moon returns with a collaboration of rich musical storytelling that continues to question the precariousness of life and celebrate the discomfort of growth.
With an authenticity characteristic to her performance style Moon and co-performers Benny 'the bard' and Lucy-Belle weave together story song and poetry in a unique performance for anyone who has known the kind of love that hurts the kind of hurt that stays or the kind of joy that changes the shape of things.
A writer performer and vocalist known for remarkable range and diversity Moon is joined at Melbourne Fringe 2025 by UK/NZ poet Benny Coles and multi-disciplinary NZ artist Lucy-Belle Willcox in this celebration of unadorned music and story. Birds of Paradise is a unique musical conversation exploring the space between us and how we might fill the gaps with song.
