Ben Simmons, the kid from Fitzroy who took on the world of basketball and became the NBA's greatest ever first year recruit.
Simmons is currently (2018) a basketball player for the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
Simmons was born in Fitzroy, grew up in Newcastle (New South Wales), went to Box Hill Senior Secondary College before moving to the United States to attend Montverde Academy in Montverde, Florida.
He returned to Melbourne (10 yo) playing for the Knox Raiders. At 15, he played for Box Hill Senior Secondary College, before taking up a scholarship at the Australian Institute of Sport. He has represented Australia at the FIBA Under-17 World Championship.
Ben sounds like you're typical guy with attitude who will go onto be a star in the NBA for many year's.
