Apollo Cafe is a re-imagining of a prestigious architectural landmark - the Mighty Apollo Gym, for the purpose of enjoying amazing coffee, food, friendships, functions and Friday night drinks!

Nestled in the iconic heart of old West Melbourne, Apollo Cafe is a re-imagining of prestigious architectural landmark for the purpose of gastronomic delight.

Apollo Cafe (est 2017) is nestled within the brick walls of the The Mighty Apollo building, (est 1926) home to the Mighty Apollo Gym operated by Paul Anderson from 1956 - 1992.

Anderson was famous for public acts of strength & is credited for introducing Martial Arts to Australian society. Apollo Cafe offers a modern Australian all day menu and Friday night dinners that highlight the chef's diversity and multicultural backgrounds. Five Senses provide the delicious coffee beans, for coffee & delicious Espresso Martini's on a Friday night.

Russell Spear, former professional Baseball player owns Apollo with his wife Cassie. A born 'people person' Russ has owned previous Cafes, & prides himself on providing spectacular customer service, greeting every customer like he's known them for years. Apollo Cafe has been created to provide a relaxing and inspiring Cafe and Function space that evolves with West Melbourne and the community, providing a memorable experience for everyone who stop by.

Opening Hours:

Mon-Fri 7am-3pm (Kitchen closes at 2:30pm)*

Sat-Sun 8am-3pm (Kitchen closes at 2:30pm)

* The doors have closed on Friday nights....but just for now. (August 2019)
