Alexandra Timber Tramway and Museum open and trains running
March 2026
Sunday 8 Dog Days, Labour Day weekend, Dog market stalls, food trucks, 1909 Fowler Steam train. Driver experience operating.
Saturday 21 Museum open and trains running, 1936 Diesel
Sunday 22 Volunteer/member only educational tour of Rubicon area. Booking essential.
Trains depart frequently between 10.00am and 3.45pm.
Dog days, bring your dog along to enjoy a train ride, dog related market stalls & food trucks
Steam or Diesel Train operates to 3.00pm then petrol hauled service
The Alexandra Timber Tramway and Museum is a tourist railway and museum situated in north-central Victoria.
There you can see a recreation of the bush sawmill and tramway era of the Rubicon Forest from 1900 to 1950.
We have also rescued and preserved a wide range of industrial locomotives rolling stock and machinery.
Trams operate on all public holidays except New Years Day Anzac Day Good Friday Cup Day Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Over Easter we operate on Easter Saturday Sunday and Monday with additional machinery displays working.
