AFTER HOURS at the Convent

What happens when you take four emerging writers, put them in one of Melbourne's most atmospheric spaces, add live music, a pop-up bar and a little after-dark magic? You get After Hours at the Convent.

This after-dark literary event will transform the historic Magdalen Laundry into an immersive evening of live readings, digital projections, ambient sounds, conversation and unexpected encounters with new work.

Hosted by journalist, filmmaker and ABC broadcaster Paul Verhoeven, the event will feature four current and former Abbotsford Convent Writers in Residence: Mia-Francesca Jones, Nalini Jacoub-Roussety, Mindy Gill and Ernest Price, plus a live set by DJ Raffet, and digital projections by Cat Yen.
