October 2024 - ABBA Voyage is close to signing a deal that would see a permanent arena built at Flemington Racecourse to house ABBA's 90-minute 3D musical experience. TheAge
January 2025 - Negotiations appear to have stalled, everything is on hold. Fears Victoria's mounting debts will prevent the Labor Government from bidding for the show. Stay tuned.
June 2025 - Yes, ABBA Voyage is confirmed to be coming to Australia. While the exact dates and locations are yet to be announced, there is strong interest from both Sydney and Melbourne to host the show. Discussions are ongoing between NSW and Victorian governments to bring the show to either Sydney or Melbourne. Google (AI)
July 2025 - The Voyage team have been in discussions with Australian promoters and state governments for over 20 months. New South Wales dropped out early for budgetary reasons. Victoria has been in serious discussions, and representatives from Voyage have visited Melbourne for face to face discussions two or three times. There has been talk of building an arena at Flemington. Recent news was that the Victorian government was balking due to their expected financial contribution to set up.
