Dandenong's '1,000 Steps' walk reopened on Tuesday 4th October 2022 after a $76.5 million recovery process backed by the Victorian Government.
The Kokoda Track Memorial Walk (incorporating the 1000 Steps) was impacted by the 2021 storms, causing significant damage to the popular walking track.
While the damage was assessed, cleared and restored the 1000 Steps were closed to ensure visitor safety and to allow works to be undertaken.
