Right now is that wonderful time of the year when everyone wants to know where the best Christmas light displays are in Melbourne?

Pack the kids into the car and head out for a fun night of entertainment. Many home owners have been decorating their homes every Christmas for years producing fantastic moving displays, some even musical that will thrill the whole family.

30 Ferndale Rd Glen Iris - Christmas lights display on two storey house starting the 1st of December every year.

13 LouiseBaille Ave, Narre Warren South - will be on again from 1/12/2010 - 31/12/2010. Plans to be bigger and better than last years. Tune car radio to 98.3 fm. More songs & more lights. Shows start at 9.00pm - 11.00pm

Leder Drive, Tarneit (Hoppers Crossing) - beautiful and bright annual display from December 1, 2010. Confirmed January 2010 (now thats keen).

57 Grieve Parade, Altona - computer controlled lights sequenced to music. In the daytime kids come to see our cartoon characters and at night time our front yard is lit up with around 500 lights.

909 Mountain Highway, Bayswater - Christmas lights display at private house starting the 1st of December every year.

14 Wendover Avenue, Bayswater North - Santa out Friday and Saturday night and every night in week leading up to Christmas. Magical display walk thru, look at village scene in window.

Brookvale Close, Beaconsfield - great display most houses have a fantastic display.

29 Scenic Drive, Beaconsfield (Corner of Scenic Drive and Grange Circuit) - 8.00 p.m - Midnight through to 30th December. (Wet weather the display is not turned on)

42 Brooks St, Bentleigh East - Christmas light display.

Gladesville Drive, Bentleigh East - massive display heaps of houses a few of the best around.

80 Homestead Road, Berwick - fanstasic display.

8 Ami Court, Berwick - These lights are fantastic!

Julie Street, Blackburn North - Six or seven houses decorate their houses with thousands of lights. An annual event for the street.

11 Eram Road Box Hill North - An amazing display of xmas lights over 5,000. From Sat 28th November. Pack the car and bring the kids to see amazing display starting at 8pm to 11pm also free candy canes will be given out.

17 Fraser Street, Brunswick - Children are welcome inside on one condition, that they wear one of the many funky Christmas hats to choose form. Also applies to parents who dare to enter!!!! Candy cane treats given to all children. Very interactive for the kids and getting bigger and better every each year!

1 Templestowe Road, Bulleen - The Early Learning Centre will be lit up for all the children to enjoy with santa offering children free treats and presents each night. 3 nights only - Monday 21st Tuesday 22nd Wednesday 23rd.

Merrivale Way, Bundoora - behind La Trobe University. We have 5 houses in our street all have decorated. Worth the drive to see.

33 Billungah Place, Burnside - great christmas display! All the light are computer controlled to music, just tune your radio to 88.1 FM and enjoy the show !!! 9pm to 12pm Mon to Thurs. 9pm to 1am Fri, Sat & Sun plus a HUGE 5 metre tree!

222 Westwood Drive, Burnside - all new display this year all LED and very bright, also a cartoon character yard art theme.come and see.

2 Rogers Close, Burnside - Great display of lights and lighted figurines Santa and Reindeers on the roof Window displays.

47 McCormicks Road, Carrum Downs - Lovely Christmas light display very bright and colorful, window display Santa visits nightly.

3 Curlew Court, Carrum Downs - A bright colourful display of christmas lights for everyone to enjoy!!

8 Plover Place, Carrum Downs - Beautiful light display with santa in an airplane, sleigh and reindeer and twinkling lights cover the roof, with Giant Polar express witha peek a boo present, and shimmering lights around the gardens, a must for kids... Lolly pops given out Christmas eve to all visitors!

51 Park Road, Cheltenham - great and worth the drive.

Cnr Songbird Ave & Vista Drive, Chirnside Park - Every year (18+) the owners do it up with thousands of lights, reindeers and sleigh, revolving christmas tree, stars and a huge snowman. Also Vista Drive & Sugarloaf Drive, just up the road.

Oxley College grounds, Old Melbourne Road, Chirnside Park - Display is synchronized to music with over 30,000 lights. The show runs for about 20 minutes and repeats from 9pm-11pm each night until December 24th. Please visit www.lmclights.org for more information.

17 Vincent Street, Deer Park All the lights are computer controlled to Christmas Carols that flash, blink, twinkle and fade in time with the beats of the music. Show times are: 8:45pm to 11pm every night in December and early January.

14, 11, 10 Lydford Crt, Diamond Creek have christmas lights inc 6ft candy canes, nativity scene, huge blow up santa, moving reindeer, chimney magical christmas balls plus a variety of snowmen, a must see for all children and adults alike.

4, 6 & 7 Happy Valley Rise, Diamond Creek - Beautifully decorated with big rope light decorations.

25 Fernhill Drive, Dingley Village - lights on from 8pm.

2 Van Unen Court, Doncaster East - This is one of the more impressive displays in Doncaster, as all the lights are sync'ed to music. The lights are on every night, and the music is broadcast on 87.6 FM. Over 30,000 lights, with 9,600 lights on a 20 foot automated Xmas Tree. Lots of color and action. www.xmasinmelb.com

26 Lachlan Drive, Endeavour Hills (corner House) - beautiful display of lights covering the front yard, driveway and garage. All welcome to walk up drive and have a look at the beautiful nativity scene and small village.

68 Daniel Solander Drive, Endeavour Hills (Off Matthew Flinders Drive) Cnr. Dampier Court. Rope Lights, Inflatables, and hand painted cut out figures.

8 Eldorado Court, Frankston - great christmas light display bigger and better.

1 Lulworth Place, Frankston - Big single display. To get the best view you will need to stop and come in as display goes into back yard as well. All children will be given a lollypop and all are welcome. Well over 10,000 lights to see and some new additions this year. Turn on 1 Dec till 17th Dec 8.30pm to 10.30pm then 18th Dec to 31st Dec 8.30pm to 11.00pm.

1 Somme Ave, Frankston - Every half hour computerized light show, music and a Christmas story for the kids (Audio 88.1FM on your car radio) from 9PM to 11PM every night until Dec 31.

The Circuit - Dalpura Circuit, Frankston

15 and 13 Raleon Avenue, Frankston - lit and decorated each year.

10 Ithaca Road, Frankston South - colourful flashing light display including santa and sled with reindeers and another in his Xmas plane.

3 Willow Road, Frankston

Domain Mews, Gisborne - enter via Stirling Way. A traditional looking light display.

7 Glendale Rd, Greensborough - Fantastic display, bigger and better than last year... over 25,000 lights and more big displays.

25 Exeter Street, Hadfield - Massive Christmas lights display from 7 December to 10 January, nightly from 9pm to 11pm. Entry is gold coin donation, all proceeds go to Very Special Kids.

14 Manatoka Cres, Hampton Park - An amazing display over the lawn, roof and in the garage. Very child friendly. Kids get little lolly bags, santa visits on weekends, and they do it as a fundraiser for Good Friday Appeal.

Dalmont Street, Highett - Bayside's answer to The Boulevard.

30 Kelland Ave, Hillside - is not just a christmas display its a theme put together by a family of 6 who have an abundance of Christmas Spirit they want to share....bring the kids... get out of the car there is so much to see.

1 Crana Crt, Hoppers Crossing - on display from late November.

169 Bellbridge Drive, Hoppers Crossing - You will enjoy a truly memorable Christmas experience... The whole front room of the is house transformed into an amazing display of fibre optic figurines, animated talking and dancing santas, a Ferris wheel full of Christmas characters, miniature trains, a breathtaking snow globe and so many more enchanting Christmas surprises! The whole house is covered in an incredible lighting display all colours of the rainbow. The Boulevard, Ivanhoe- Melbourne's best known Christmas light displays. Give yourself plenty of time, think about parking and walking because the traffic is horrendous.

93 Sunshine Ave, Kealba - Not only a stunning display of colourful lights, the garden is decorated with reindeers, Santa, presents and a huge snow globe.

74 Eliza Street, Keilor Park - Magical window displays and decorated garden, now in it's 10th year, kids love it! Until Dec 26th pleasant weather only.

21 Glenthorne Drive, Keysborough - Christmas lights full front lawn and top of carport. Features large carousel, pop up father christmas and over a dozen many rope light displays. Rope light display turned on 8pm to 12am. air pump displays on continuious day and night. HOPE YOU ENJOY THE SHOW.

Mountfield Road, Kilsyth - several houses have great displays..well worth a look!

22 Paperbark Place, Knoxfield - fantastic lights that light up the whole street! A must see!

81 Laura Road, Knoxfield - fantastic light display and ornaments, roof and yard alight with display.

14 Melrome Crt, Kurunjang - love the eyes of the kids when they see it.

25 Kerry Street, Langwarrin - House and front yard coordinated to music.

11 Lytham Court, Langwarrin - has great colourful lights.

63 Southgateway, Langwarrin - Great display inside and out. You are also welcome to go and look in the windows as the front rooms are set up beautifully.

172 Hereford Road, Lilydale - 20 year Christmas light display is an interactive, animated display, great for kids, and big kids too. Till the 24th open every night from 8.30 till 11 pm.

74 Eldorado Court, Meadow Heights

6 Prahn Court, Melton South - Fantastic light display. Channel 7 christmas lights finalist 2008. Santa visits Friday and Saturday nights. Lights turn on at 8:45pm from the 1st December until and the last display will be Christmas night 25/12/09.

18 Fraser St, Melton South - on every night from 8:30pm to 11pm Santa will be here on Christmas eve. Welcome to look at any time hope you enjoy!

2095 Mickleham Rd. Mickleham - farm with lots of lights opens 1st Dec. Santa's here on Saturday and Sunday nights after 9.00pm bring camera.

25 Airlie Road, Montmorency - spectacular lights display with some lovely handmade pieces. Getting bigger and brighter each year.

Reichelt Ave, Montmorency (cnr Rattray Rd) - 3 houses one with three snow machines and finalist in the Channel 7 competition two years ago, worth a look.

48 Napier Cres, Montmorency - Large displays of lights and interactive fun for the kids.

19 Waltham Drive, Mornington - An amazing display of Christmas lights choreographed to music. Tune in your car radio or just stand out front to watch thousands of lights dance to Christmas tunes. An awesome display!

13 Louise Baille Ave, Narre Warren South - Fully computerized light show that runs between 9.00-11.00 each night till the New Year. Come & enjoy the show that last for well over an hour. Sit and watch from your car or stand out by the lake. Over 40 thousand lights on display.

9 Arena Square, Noble Park - Christmas lights synchronised to music, snow machine bubble machine and lots of christmas inflatables. Santa statue for kids to have their photos taken on.

Bent Street, Northcote - Near corner of St Georges Road [west end].

Thomson St, Northcote (between Victoria Road and Leonard Street) - a row of houses full of Christmas lights that look magical. Guaranteed to bring a tear to your eye.

4 Dennis Ave, Pakenham 17,000 lights now in our 14th year (2010). Santa arrives every Friday and Saturday if weather ok... ho ho ho!

32 The Circuit, Pakenham - On most nights, this display is now in it's 6th year and includes a large blow up Santa, Tree, reindeer plus lots lots more!

23 Joffre Road, Pascoe Vale - wonderful Display of Christmas lights.

12 Devon Road, Pascoe Vale - double story house, covered in lights!

Warwick Rd, Pascoe Vale - Stunning Christmas display, getting bigger every year, lights been collected around the world, has been displayed for 15 years.

Santander Crescent, Point Cook - 6 houses with light displays including one house with a computerised light and music show. Definatley worth the drive!

17 Creswick Drive, Point Cook - large Christmas light display with whole house and front lawn covered with lights.

25 Astley Crescent, Point Cook - brilliant xmas lights for all the family to enjoy. From light up trains on the roof to santa and his sleigh taking off on a runway, this house has it all !

Wyndarra Court, Ringwood North - Good display at the top of the court - Lots of colour and movement with a variety of different displays and lights to take in. Take your time and hop out of the car to get a good overall view.

6 Rollings Close, Rosebud South - 14 years this and many house in the street have been lighting up for Christmas.

3 Crimea Close, Rowville - 5 reindeers pulling Santa's sleigh on top of the roof. Large colourful light display, lots to see.

16 Holden Road, Rye (Corner Anelida Street). Christmas Lights from 1st December till 5th January. Lights on from 8pm to midnight/1am.

Rowan Parade, Wendouree (Ballarat) - better known as "Santa Street" and voted as best decorated street. Come along and have a look, Santa might even be out in his sleigh at 46 as well as a Christmas Winnie The Pooh across the road.

13 Melrose Place, Werribee - Come & see our christmas lights. Fantastic Santa & Elf Singing band, nativity set, santas, stars & lots more.

St Thomas' Anglican Church, Werribee - Cnr Synnot and Greaves St - Father Max Bowers tells us the display features over 30,000 fairy lights inside and outside the buildings. The display is open every night until Friday December 22nd, 8 to 11pm. For more info, have a look at www.stthomas.net.au.
