Explore a bushland haven for Australian wildlife at Healesville Sanctuary, just one hour from Melbourne in the stunning Yarra Valley wine region.

Wander through the tranquil tracks and meet some iconic Australian animals like Koalas, Kangaroos, Platypus, Dingoes, Wombats and Emus in their natural surrounds.

Healesville Sanctuary is internationally renowned around the globe for its work saving endangered Australian species. It is also home to the Australian Wildlife Centre, a hospital which treats more than 2000 sick and injured native animals every year.

Wade with the Platypus: A world-first experience in which you can wade and play with this unique mammal in its play pool.

HOW TO GET HERE

Healesville Sanctuary is located on Badger Creek Road, Healesville, Vic. 3777

Take the Eastern Freeway out of Melbourne, then drive east along Maroondah Highway through Ringwood and Lilydale to Healesville. Turn right into Badger Creek Road, just past the township centre. From there, road signage will guide you to the Healesville Sanctuary carpark.

Public transport: Train and Bus. Take the Lilydale line to Lilydale station. Then take the Lilydale bus to Healesville Sanctuary.

Coach: A number of day tours operate. See: www.zoo.org.au/healesvilledaytours

KIDS ARE FREE

Kids are FREE on weekends, Victorian Government school holidays & public holidays.

Zoos open every day of the year from 9am-5pm

Days: Every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
