The Whitehorse Centre is the City of Whitehorse's Licensed Function and Performing Arts Centre, located in Nunawading, in Melbourne's Eastern suburbs.
Our facilities include a professionally equipped performing arts theatre and a number of function and meeting rooms.
The Whitehorse Professional Theatre and Music Season showcases some of the best professional theatre from around the country. It is also a popular venue for many of the City of Whitehorse's performing arts groups.
The Whitehorse Centre presents a diverse program each year including plays, musicals, opera, ballet, shows for children, works by renowned Australian playwrights as well as new productions by emerging writers and performing arts companies.
The Whitehorse Centre is an integral part of the City of Whitehorse's creative community and is soon to undergo a redevelopment which will increase venue seating capacity and performances spaces, as well as providing local residents and businesses with multipurpose rehearsal, meeting and function rooms.

6 dedicated wheelchair spaces. There are no steps or inclines from the car park up until the 5th row of the theatre. Whitehorse Centre provides excellent wheelchair access.
Dedicated Carer Seats
5 fixed theatre seats that correspond to wheelchair/s spaces ensuring carers/companions can sit alongside patrons attending in wheelchairs.
Free standing and height adjustable, bariatric-style seating. These seats are allocated upon request and at the discretion of management.
A wireless lightwave system using headphones or a neck loop is available and can be requested at the foyer kiosk upon arrival. An audio loop for patrons wearing a hearing aid with a T switch is also available throughout the theatre.
Patrons with a hearing or speech impairment can call us via the National Relay Service on 133 677 then quote 9262 6333.
Accessible Toilets 1 large unisex bathroom/toilet is located adjacent to the central foyer.
Assistance Animals are permitted however we strongly recommend patrons call ahead to advise the box office prior to attending a theatre performance with their AA. Contingency may be required to ensure neighbouring patrons feel comfortable sitting in close proximity to an animal (allergies, phobias or personal preference)
Accessible Car Parking
There are four dedicated accessible parking bays within our car park, all in close proximity to the venue entrance. We recommend arriving 45-60 minutes prior to a performance to secure a bay (or alternatively a similar space very nearby)
Plastic, stackable booster seats for children are available. Patrons are welcome to bring back-less car booster seats or a comfortable lounge cushion if preferred.

Located in the multi-user accessibility toilet/bathroom adjacent to the central foyer

Not permitted in theatre however a secure 'parking bay' area is provided
Mobility scooters are not permitted in theatre - the patron will be required to disembark at the entry point to the theatre.
Walkers are permitted into the theatre to facilitate patrons being safely seated in a theatre seat. The walker will then be parked in a safe and accessible location within the theatre for staff/carers to recall when required. Walkers with bench seats cannot be used as an alternative seat within the theatre.
Our staff are on hand to assist patrons and ensure both their safety and comfort within our venue at all times. Staff are not trained or permitted to undertake the duties or responsibilities of a personal care attendant.
Should you need assistance or feel unsafe returning to your car alone please ask one of our staff to accompany you.
The Whitehorse Centre is located in parkland at the rear of the Council's Civic Centre at 397 Whitehorse Road, Nunawading.
Only a 20 minute drive from Melbourne's CBD and 5 minutes from the Springvale Rd/Eastlink freeway exit.
Whitehorse Centre has ample free parking on site with overflow options available at Walker Park, a sports oval partnering the precinct to the east.
Our car park also services City of Whitehorse staff and visitors during standard business hours so parking occassional reaches capacity during weekdays especially when Whitehorse Centre hosts concurrent events.
Parking can also reach capacity on weekend days during August due to local football finals held at Walker Park.
Parking on any grass area within the precinct is strictly prohbited (penalities apply)
