Westside Circus

Westside Circus

Westside CircusWestside Circus is a Melbourne based community arts organisation creating circus, performance, physical theatre, music and leadership opportunities for young people.

Our aim is to make a difference for young people between the ages of 3 and 25 from diverse social and cultural backgrounds to access exciting and challenging programs which build confidence, promote personal well being and create positive relationships both with peers and the community.

The scope of Westside Circus has grown since 1996 and now reaches beyond its core youth programs into the broader Victorian community, creating workshops and performances for all ages.

Westside Circus works with young people aged 3-25 years to access exciting and challenging programs. We work with indigenous young people; refugees and newly arrived groups; at risk young people; pre-schoolers and their parents; a wide range of schools and community groups; as well as many individuals who enrol in our public classes.

The programs reach 400 local families each week and 8,000 community participants each year. Westside Circus works with young people to create community and major performances showcased at festivals such as Melbourne Fringe, Next Wave and Moomba.
