* The Eagles *
Tuesday 5 & Wednesday 6 March 2019 LEGENDARY band the Eagles are set to tour Australia again after the shock death of Glenn Frey. But there's a heartbreaking reason behind their decision to give it another shot. Eagles announce Australian tour in March 2019 ROCK icons The Eagles will tour Australia in 2019 with a new line-up . DEACON FREY has replaced his father, Glenn Frey, who died in 2016. As well as DON HENLEY, JOE WALSH and TIMOTHY B. SCHMIT, country star VINCE GILL has also joined the new Eagles. 'They've replaced Glenn with two people,' promoter MICHAEL GUDINSKI said. 'Deacon sung with Don at Glenn's memorial. Him joining the band has happened naturally. It's gone down so well in America, they've added more and more dates. It's not like they have a new album or anything to promote, they're just playing because they're loving it so much and they wouldn't be doing it if it didn't sound incredible.' Frey planted the seed for his inclusion when he performed at his dad's memorial. He made his official debut in the Eagles in front of 50,000 fans at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles in July, apparently with his eyes closed for most of the show. 'The only way it felt justified to me was to have family blood in the band. And I have to hand it to Deacon. We rehearsed for a couple of months. And his first gig with us was at Dodger Stadium,' Henley told Rolling Stone. Tickets on sale from 2pm on October 15 from Ticketek. Tour dates Tuesday, February 26 : Spark Arena | Auckland Saturday, March 2: Forsyth Barr Stadium | Dunedin Tuesday 5 & Wednesday 6 March 2019: Rod Laver Arena | Melbourne Saturday, March 9: Entertainment Centre | Brisbane Wednesday, March 13: Qudos Bank Arena | Sydney Warner Music Australia is releasing The Eagles' Legacy collection, in both a 12-CD/DVD/Blu-ray set and a 15-LP set, on November 2.
