Talk: Exploring Crime in Melbourne Today

Pentridge Coburg Launches Second Criminology Talk

A PUBLIC EVENT SUPPORTED BY PENTRIDGE
'EXPLORING CRIME IN MELBOURNE TODAY'
presented by Michelle Noon

We hear crime is on the rise, our prisons are overflowing, and that community safety is at an all time low. But is that really the whole of the matter? In this encore seminar, criminologist Michelle Noon unpacks what's really going on.

Join us at historic Pentridge to explore crime - then and now - in this special public event.

***BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND***

After its first criminology talk sold out earlier this year, Pentridge Coburg will once again open its gates and welcome people inside the iconic bluestone walls of the former prison for an evening criminology talk.

Returning by popular demand, the discussion on 29 November will be led by criminologist and criminology lecturer Michelle Noon, who will explore the topic How Safe are We? Exploring Crime in Melbourne Today.

The event will discuss the perception that crime is on the rise, prisons are overflowing and community safety is at an all-time low. Michelle Noon will challenge perceptions about crime in Melbourne and what can be done to tackle crime in the community.

Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to a community initiative to benefits residents of Pentridge and the wider Coburg community.
