South Side Festival 2025 - Frankston
Frankston's South Side Festival is returning from Thursday 8 May to Sunday 18 May 2025 bringing a packed program of cutting-edge visual arts immersive installations playful performances workshops and live music all showcasing the colourful and creative undertone at Frankston's core.
Now in its fourth year the festival offers more to explore than ever before - this is your chance to jump in discover something new and be part of the action.
Program highlights
Neon Fields (8-11 May): Beauty Park transforms into a glowing wonderland with dazzling light installations a neon drum kit and grand piano and plenty of Instagrammable moments.
South Side Sea Soak (10 May): Take the plunge with an early morning ocean dip and a beachside brekkie hosted by the Frankston Life Saving Club.
Sydney Dance Company: momenta (10 May): A powerful dance performance choreographed by Rafael Bonachela at the Frankston Arts Centre.
CHEER (16-17 May) & Farmy Farm (17-18 May): Brand-new circus shows from multi-award-winning Circus Trick Tease - one for adults one for kids!
Joshua Searle: Oro Vivo (Living Gold) (9-18 May): Large-scale projections celebrating Colombian heritage at the Frankston Library forecourt.
Holiday in Frankston (10 May): All-ages punk gig at Singing Bird Studio.
Peter Milne: Lovers and Misfits (10 May-26 July): A photography exhibition featuring icons of Melbourne's 1970s punk scene.
Lori Hakim: Undercurrent (10 May-19 July): Jewellery made from waste found along the Port Phillip Bay coastline.
Creative Juices (10 May): Art meets comedy in a hands-on experience led by performer Timothy Christopher Ryan.
Sincere Apologies (14-15 May): Interactive theatre exploring the power of saying sorry.
Kiss the Ground screening + panel (15 May): A documentary on soil regeneration and local climate action.
Workshops & Walks: From urban gardening to cultural bushwalks with Nairm Marr Djambana there's plenty to dive into.
