* Skyhooks Memorabilia Auction: Bushfire Relief Appeal *
Skyhooks Memorabilia, Including-Framed Gold Record and the pair of orange overalls worn by Graeme "Shirley" Strachan when he performed "Party to end all Parties." The Gold record was for "Blue Jeans" awarded by Festival Records New Zealand December 1977. This was the only international award achieved by Skyhooks. Proudly donated by the Strachan Family 100% of proceeds from this item will be donated to the Australian Red Cross - with over 10 million hectares burnt in Australia since the 2019 bushfire season started Red Cross will put resources towards supporting people and communities in these desperate times of need and aim to reduce suffering from the devastating impact of these bushfires. They include the orange overalls (below) worn when he performed Party to End All Parties on the 100th episode of Countdown, and his gold disc for Skyhooks' 1977 hit Blue Jeans, which was the only international award the band achieved. "Shirl was renowned for his ability to hold an audience with his cheeky quick wit and smile," his sister MARILYN CROSSLEY told Confidential. "By donating these treasured items we feel that the money raised will breathe new life into the communities and wildlife affected by the bushfires.
