'Seymour in Spring - a festival of events, will celebrate everything about Seymour. 'It's hard to imagine living anywhere more beautiful and inviting than Seymour and that's why we want to share this spectacular town and region. With its array of exciting activities and events, our Seymour in Spring project will reflect how magical Spring in Central Victoria truly is.' states Cynthia Lim, Seymour in Spring project coordinator. Seymour is Spectacular Seymour is Country Seymour is Home We adore our locality and proximity to Melbourne, wide open spaces, meandering river, liveability, country hospitality, generosity and strength in our community volunteers and now it's time to invite others to share it with us. 'Join the celebration' is the invitation' says Ms Lim. A comprehensive list of events encompassing all of Spring between 1 September to 30 November has been collated. The website already lists a number of events and is still growing day by day. Seymour in Spring invite the community to peruse the events and help promote Seymour to visitors and friends www.seymouris.com.au Keep an eye out for the pocket size booklet which provides a listing of the events plus community group information which will be a handy guide for locals plus much more information aimed at tourists when visiting the area. Copies can be found at the Seymour Visitor Information Centre at the Old Courthouse on Emily St or at shops around town. The booklet will also be available at outlets around Melbourne and other regional centres. It wouldn't be a Spring festival' without inviting Seymour's good neighbours, so included' are events in Avenel, Glenaroua, Highlands, Hilldene, Kerrisdale, Mangalore, Northwood, Puckapunyal, Pyalong, Tallarook, Trawool, Tooborac & Whiteheads Creek. Stuart Locke President of Seymour Business and Tourism says ' This project showcases our community and our strengths and will show-off the vibrancy and liveability of the Seymour area. Take a look at all the events and activities listed - it's so pleasing to see such diversity and so many opportunities during school holidays too.' The highlight events during Spring are; The Great Seymour Show Off, SPW One Act Play festival and Grease The Musical, Tastes of the Goulburn food and wine festival, Art Beyond the Divide, garden open days, Railway Heritage Centre trips, charity fundraisers such as Justin's Day, sculpture and art exhibitions, guided nature and sustainability walks, Cheesemaking 101, kidding shed tours to see newly born baby goats, unique vegetarian lunch - 200 steps to lunch and pop up mid-week dinners, winery open days, music events, outdoor cinema, sporting finals, Vic Fish Kids at the new fishing platform and much more. Along with regular weekly and monthly events such as the local markets, workshops, community group meet ups there is something for every interest and every age group on offer to captivate the community and visitors.
