We are saddened and horrified to hear about the rape and murder of Eurydice Dixon on Tuesday 14th June in Princes Park.
She should have been able to walk home safely from work without being followed and harmed in such a cruel way.
We all should be able to walk home, whenever we want, wherever we want, and assume we will make it home safe. We are so disgusted and fed up with women being treated like trash, being wiped out because of misogyny and a culture of toxic masculinity. Our bodies are not there for taking. It is not up to us to keep ourselves safe when we know it's up to men to choose not to inflict violence upon us.
Princess Park is a beautiful place, a wonderful space for the community to enjoy and we ask you to join us to pay our respect and to RECLAIM THE PARK.
