* Rabbit Expo 2019 *
It is with great pleasure that Platinum CPD presents the Rabbit Expo 2019. This exciting one-day conference features three lecture streams - one for veterinarians, one for veterinary nurses and one for rabbit owners, plus a large designated trade and exhibition area encompassing many different rabbit related businesses and charities. 'Whoever says "It's only a rabbit"has obviously never loved one' - Anon Without question, this is a sentiment shared by our thriving rabbit community; a population of people of all ages who are passionate about the health and wellbeing of their bunny companions. Following on from the inaugural Rabbit Expo in 2017, . 'Event program: Rabbit Owner Stream Session 1: Caring for your elderly rabbit - Our geriatric bunnies bring with them a unique set of potential problems to deal with. This lecture will provide you with lots of useful tips on how to identify and manage age related problems. Session 2: Diet and Behavioural Changes in the elderly rabbit - An insight into some of the more common changes you may notice in your rabbit and what they may mean. Session 3: Emergency! What to do when your rabbit is suddenly unwell - Vital information on how to deal with those emergency situations, or sudden illness. Session 4: Round table discussion - your chance to ask the experts! We will be welcoming questions from delegates both before the event, and on the day. Session 5: Practical tips and tricks! - your chance to learn from the highly experienced and knowledgeable rabbit nurses in this interesting and interactive session Veterinary Stream Session 1: Health Problems in the Aging Rabbit (Dr Brendan Carmel) Session 2: Renal Disease and the Aging Rabbit (Dr Gerry Skinner) Session 3: Gastrointestinal problems and the ageing rabbit. (Dr Gerry Skinner) Session 4: Approaches to dental disease in the geriatric rabbit.(Dr Nicole Su) Session 5: Calicivirus - what's new? (Dr Lizzie Selby) 'Veterinary Nurse Stream' Session 1: Practical care of the ageing rabbit. (Dr Ruby Ivanov) Session 2: Workshop - Nursing skills for the hospitalised rabbit. (Dee Morris) Session 3: Anaesthetising the old or sick rabbit. (Dr Sam Schultz) Session 4: Round table discussion - ask the experts. (panel of speakers) Session 5: Pain relief options for geriatric or unwell rabbits. (Jess Coates ) 'The Trade Fair The designated exhibition hub is a wonderful opportunity to discover all that our thriving rabbit community has to offer: food, supplements, housing, bedding, toys, treats, enrichment, art and memorabilia, and so much more! ' The Rabbit Expo Trade Fair is a fantastic accompaniment to the educational part of the day; and will be open for the duration of the event for lecture participants.
