Power Pop Now

Power Pop Now! featuring Central Rain, John Dowler's Vanity Project, Golden Rail and Little Murders

Central Rain is beyond stoked to be launching their new album in such highly esteemed company!

The first solo project for Melbourne's Luke Thomas (The Pictures, Deserters, The Ronson Hangup) is the antidote to autotune; his no-frills, melody-drenched indie rock Blurs The Church, Neil Young, REM and The Go-Betweens. Never one to pander to mainstream radio tastes, Thomas writes from the heart and the songs are performed with a refreshing honesty.

Debut album Kick The Moonwas recorded direct to 2-inch tape in two days (no bells, whistles, or studio trickery required), and takes on a dynamic live sound in the hands of a 4 (sometimes 5) piece band of friends and familiars.

Also appearing on the night will be John Dowler's Vanity Project. John is best known for his work with Legendary Australian popsters The Zimmermen and Young Modern. He will be playing songs from his recently released album, 'Splendid Isolation' as well as tracks from his vast back catalogue.

Melbourne stalwwarts Little Murders will also be bringing their unique brand of pop along for the ride.

As well as Golden Rail opening proceedings in a special acoustic format.
