MPavilion is a new civic space, a cultural laboratory in which to experiment and experience, an event hub and a meeting place.
Melbourne is known around the world for its fine gardens and vital public spaces - and its innovation in design and architecture. MPavilion brings these elements together in a unique annual architecture commission and design event.
The 5th MPavilion, arriving in spring 2018, is designed by Netherlands-based architects Rem Koolhaas and David Gianotten of OMA.
Creators of modern architectural icons, OMA is a prolific international practice of worldwide distinction and influence.
See you in the gardens!
Wominjeka (Welcome). We acknowledge the Yalukit Wilum as the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet.
Yalukit Wilum means 'people of the river camp' and is connected with the coastal land at the head of Port Phillip Bay, extending from the Werribee River to Mordialloc.
The Yalukit Wilum are part of the Boon Wurrung, one of the five major language groups of the greater Kulin Nation.
We pay our respects to the land, their ancestors and their elders, past, present and to the future.
