Mozart Piano Concerto No.19 in F major with Elyane Laussade
Friday May 17 at 7.30pm - James Tatoulis Auditorium, Kew
Mozart Piano Concerto No.19 in F major
with Elyane Laussade
Elyane Laussade is a graduate of the Juilliard School in New York. She has delighted audiences on 5 continents with her imaginative and strongly individual playing and has established herself as one of Australia's finest pianists.
Late last year Elyane embarked on the Mozart Project in which she aims to play all of Mozart's piano concertos.
This is the second of 3 concerts with the Melbourne Musicians this year and this time she is playing Mozart's Piano Concerto No.19 in F major, K.459.
It is the most uniformly cheerful of Mozart's concertos and the brilliance and beauty of the score suggests Mozart's consummate mastery of the keyboard.
The program includes the premiere of Haydn's 12 German Dances;
a symphony by Dittersdorf ( a friend of Haydn and Mozart who played string quartets with them) and Haydn's delightful Symphony No.55, "The School Master", which is notable for its humour, its irresistible tunes and the beautiful writing for the wind instruments.
