Melbourne Business School

Melbourne Business School is the leading provider of management education in the Asia Pacific.

Our academic standing is grounded in the heritage and reputation of The University of Melbourne. Celebrating our 40th anniversary this year, Melbourne Business School is the region’s largest business school and was the first to offer the MBA program.

Melbourne Business School (MBS) began in 1956, when The University of Melbourne offered Australia’s first residential executive program in the summer of that year. The first Master of Business Administration (MBA) program began in 1963. During the 1980s, MBS was awarded the status of a National Management School by the Australian Government.

Since then, the School has introduced a range of quality management education programs, including the Executive MBA, Postgraduate Diploma in Management, Master of Marketing and other non-award executive courses. MBS is consistently ranked among the leading management education providers in the Asia Pacific region.

In 2004 Melbourne Business School merged with Mt Eliza Business School making MBS the largest management education business school in the region. Our Mt Eliza Centre for Executive Education is recognised as a pioneer in the use of applied general management techniques and action learning methodologies within Australian corporate education circles. The School’s large resource base enables it to attract quality educators and distinguished speakers, offer a wide range of programs covering the full spectrum of management education and invest more in research and innovation, to better support its students, alumni and corporate partners.

Melbourne Business School is purpose-built for business education, conferences, training courses and senior management retreats. Our dedicated facilities in Melbourne, coastal Victoria, Sydney, and Beijing are intimate and completely self-contained. Our Carlton campus in Melbourne is located only 1.5 kilometers from the centre of Melbourne, Australia, close to The University of Melbourne. Our campus in Mt Eliza on the Victorian coast, with breathtaking views over Port Phillip Bay, provides an intimate learning space for our program participants. Our variety of teaching spaces and configurations cater for the many different learning formats offered and all of our state-of-the-art facilities are available for external use.
