Sat 15th February, 2020 - Sun 16th February, 2020 Meeniyan Reserve Hanily Street, Meeniyan Victoria's Garlic Festival Wander down Garlic Drive and explore the amazing garlic grown in South Gippsland and from across Victoria. Tantalise your taste buds with our garlic beer and garlic ice-cream! Devoted to the goodness of garlic, Gippsland's annual Meeniyan Garlic Festival returns for another year. On Saturday February 15, more than 150 stalls will serve everything from bread, scones and butter to ice-cream, coffee and beer - all infused with garlic. Welcome to our celebration of locally grown garlic and produce plus the outstanding food, wine arts and craft of South Gippsland. Our entry fee of $10 will provide you with an entry wristband and a festival guide with map, directions and the festival program. Don't forget to bring a hat, sunscreen and water bottle - refills are free. Fifteen local garlic growers will contribute produce to the event, where you can learn about different garlic varieties, watch live cooking demos and get growing tips. Other activities on offer: a sheaf-toss competition, billy-cart time trials, veggie sculpting, a "garlic quest" for kids, as well as cow-milking for ... garlic-infused milkshakes? But it's not all garlic. The marketplace will also sell fruit and veg, cheese, beer and wine, and art and homewares. A new addition for this year's event is the long-table Garlic Feast on Sunday February 16. It's a $150-a-head garlicky degustation by Alejandro Saravia (Pastuso, Farmer's Daughters), Trevor Perkins (Hogget Kitchen) and Antony Ellis (The Grove Gippsland) that will showcase the region's produce. Local wines will be matched to each course. Festival Location Meeniyan Town is 150km south east of Melbourne, on the way to The Prom, just 90 minutes from the ‘burbs'.
