The Ivanhoe Reading Circle first met in 1920, and has met continuously since. It is the oldest continually running book club in Melbourne.
The Ivanhoe Reading Circle aims to be accessible, inclusive, and create opportunities for connection through a shared love of books and reading.
Each month we discuss a book which has been nominated and voted for by members the previous year. One or two presenters typically prepare a short paper and then lead the discussion.
Our reading list is eclectic, including contemporary and classic fiction and nonfiction, as well as poetry and plays.
We meet the first Tuesday of every month between March - December.
