International Chess Day 2018

International Chess Day 2018

July 20 is International Chess Day...

How many chess games can be played in a capital city in one day?

You may not know it, but 20th July marks International Chess Day and Melburnians are being encouraged to play a game of chess and contribute to the tally to set a new record.

Don’t own a chessboard? Never fear! You can either register your workplace online to receive a free chessboard for the day, or visit a participating local coffee shop offering the free use of a chessboard on the day.

Participants simply have to register their game online on Facebook or Twitter before midnight so it can be counted toward the total.

Visit www.chessday.com to find a location and more details about registering your office or games played.
