On Thursday, 12 September, 2019 the National Trust will officially launch the 'Gruffalo Trail', an augmented reality experience that brings the story of the Gruffalo to life, just in time for the school holidays.
The tale of the Gruffalo follows a mouse who cleverly thwarts danger on a walk through a forest using an 'imaginary' monster who turns out to be very real!
By downloading the Gruffalo Spotters app and visiting the beautiful Rippon Lea Estate, families will be guided through the trail through an interactive and exciting experience, giving them the chance to meet their favourite characters from the award-winning book at the beautiful Rippon Lea Estate.
The Gruffalo picture book has sold more than 13.5 million copies worldwide, is depicted in an Oscar nominated film and this year celebrates its 20th anniversary.
