Spotify has announced the return of their live playlist event, Front Left Live, this time moving to a new venue at the Forum Melbourne on Wednesday 9th October 2019.

Front Left Live will feature some of the world's most genre-defying artists from near and far, including Tove Lo, who will perform exclusively in Australia for the Spotify event, Tones And I, girl in red, BENEE and Electric Fields, with special international guest soon to be announced.

The live showcase-format event is based on Spotify's Front Left playlist, which boasts over 500,000 followers and has helped break countless Australian artists across the AUNZ market, and abroad, through their extensive global playlist ecosystem.

Evoking the joy in discovering your new favourite song or artist, Front Left Live brings this emotion into the live realm, giving fans and listeners a chance to relive those feelings for one whole evening with their favourite artists.

Returning for its second year, Spotify's Front Left Live is making its new home in Melbourne - ready to show off some of the best music from their flagship Front Left playlist.

For anyone who wants to stay ahead of the music pack, Front Left (formerly Indie Mixtape) is the Spotify playlist to follow. Updated constantly, it is the place to be to discover the best in new music from your future favourite artists.

Now Spotify is ready to bring that magic to the live stage with the second Australian instalment of Front Left Live.

And the lineup is HUGE.

Leading the way, in an Australian exclusive performance, is Swedish singer-songwriter and ultimate pop rebel Tove Lo. Joining her will be Australian artist of the moment Tones And I, Norwegian newcomer girl in red, one of our New Zealand 2019 artists to watch BENEE, and the incredible electronic duo Electric Fields. If that isn't enough to get you over the line, there is also a special international guest soon to be announced.

Tove Lo came to the attention of Australian music fans when she teamed up with Flume and Daniel Johns on their single ‘Say It' in 2016. Now an international superstar in her own right, Lo's album Sunshine Kitty is due out Friday 20 September, making her Australian visit one of her first live performances after the record drops.

Becoming the first Australian to top the ARIA charts in a year and the first female to top ARIA charts since 2015 is no mean feat, but Sydney artist Tones And I has recently done just that with her single ‘Dance Monkey'. With only a trio of singles under her belt, she has just sold out her first-ever Australian headline tour. Tones' highly anticipated debut EP The Kids Are Coming is set for release on Friday August 30.

Norwegian singer-songwriter and producer Marie Ulven has us falling in love with her musical moniker girl in red. Somewhat of a mystery for a while, her lo-fi bedroom pop has quickly amassed an ever-growing online following.

We pegged Auckland artist BENEE as ‘One To Watch' and the beginning of 2019, and so far her year has been huge. Magically balancing R&B grooves and alt-pop hooks, her debut EP Fire On Marzz showcases everything the singer-songwriter does best.

Rounding out the lineup is Adelaide-based producer/composer Michael Ross and vocalist Zaachariaha Fielding AKA Electric Fields. Their blend of traditional Aboriginal culture, language and modern electronic soul makes them an artist you need to hear, but experiencing them on the live stage takes things to a whole new level.

Head of Music Culture and Editorial at Spotify Australia & NZ, Alicia Sbrugnera, says, "We were thrilled with the response to Front Left Live last year. The goal was to build a stronger Spotify playlist brand, then take it to the stage through a live event; our first major live public event in this region and the first time bringing a playlist brand to life. In doing so we were able to increase the listenership of the Front Left playlist and help over 500,000 fans discover more of the best and most diverse new music than ever before."

In 2018, the debut Front Left Live lineup featured Cosmo's Midnight, Baker Boy x Dallas Woods, Hatchie, Kota Banks x CXLOE, and special, international guest - King Princess.

In America, Rap Caviar Live and Hot Country Live have proven a success, as has the UK show Who We Be Live.
