Lyon Housemuseum Galleries: ENTER

The opening of a major new public museum in Kew, the Lyon Housemuseum Galleries, is marked by its inaugural show entitled ENTER.

The exhibition celebrates some of Australia's most significant contemporary artists as they explore the conventions of a 'white cube' gallery, focusing on the relationships between art, architecture and visitor experience.

Designed by architect Corbett Lyon, the new Galleries are a public extension of the existing and adjacent Lyon Housemuseum, founded by patrons Corbett and Yueji Lyon.

From the sixteen artists commissioned for the first show, five are drawn from the existing Lyon Housemuseum collection, while eleven new artists were invited to create works which unfold as a pathway of interconnected experiences ' conversations, interactions, juxtapositions and provocations.

The artists developing new works for ENTER include: Brook Andrew, Ry David Bradley, FFIXXED Studios X James Deutsher, Shaun Gladwell, nova Milne, Kate Mitchell, Dan Moynihan, Callum Morton, Baden Pailthorpe, Kenzee Patterson, Patricia Piccinini, Ian Strange, Esther Stewart, Kynan Tan, Min Wong, Constanze Zikos.
