2018 Rotary Eltham Festival - 10th and 11th of November! Check out the 2 days of fantastic music entertainment lined-up on the Main Stage! Youth performers wanted!! If you are a singer, band, DJ, rapper, poet, comedian and you want the opportunity to perform live, contact us now!! Successful stallholder applicants will receive their instructions for attending the Rotary Eltham Festival by the end of October.
Rotary Eltham Town Festival 2018FIREWORKS Saturday 10 November at dusk (approx. 9 pm) Alistair Knox Park Come for the evening, bring a picnic rug and bag your spot on the hill for the fireworks. Tap your toes to the music on the main stage or get up and dance. As usual there will be lots of food and drink options to suit every taste. HERITAGE BUS and MINIATURE TRAIN RIDES Saturday 10 November 12 noon to 4.30pm Sunday 11 November 11am to 4.30pm Eltham to Eltham Lower Park and return A free heritage bus will be running both days of the festival, picking up passengers on a 30 minute cycle. Bus stops are: Eltham Township: bus stop outside Alistair Knox Park every half hour from 12 noon to 4.30pm Saturday and 11 am to 4.30pm Sunday Eltham Lower Park: near the DVR Main Station (Saturday) and Pine Creek Station (Main Road entrance to the Park) on Sunday every half hour from 12.15 pm on Saturday and 11.15 pm on Sunday Trains will run between 12 noon and 4.30pm on Saturday at the discounted price of $2 per ticket. On Sunday they will run between 11am and 5pm at the usual price of $3 per ticket. A model locomotive will also be on display in Alistair Knox Park! FESTIVAL CARNIVAL Saturday 10 November 12 noon to 9 pm Sunday 11 November 9 am to 5 pm Alistair Knox Park (Bridge Road end) The colour and fun of the festival carnival is on again this year! MINI MOKE DISPLAY Saturday 10 November Alistair Knox Park The Moke Owners Association of Victoria will be holding a display of Mini Mokes in Alistair Knox Park on the Saturday of the Eltham Festival. These unique leisure vehicles were designed by the British Motor Corporation, based on the Mini, and were manufactured in Australia between 1966 and 1981. ELTHAM and DISTRICT WOODWORKERS EXHIBITION Saturday 10 November 9 am to 5 pm Sunday 11 November 9 am to 4 pm (raffle drawn at 4 pm) Eltham Community Reception Centre The Eltham Woodworkers are again holding their annual exhibition in the Eltham Community Reception Centre. Entry is free and on display is a wide range of wood crafts including furniture , wooden boxes , turned items , carvings , marquetry, scroll saw and pyrography. There will be a live display of woodworking and a free hands on children’s toy making. Free parking is also available on site. SENSORY FRIENDLY CHILL OUT ZONE Saturday 10 November Sunday 11 November Alistair Knox Park Take time out at the Chill Out Zone – sensory friendly storytelling, activities and giveaways both days. Come and meet the Nillumbik MetroAccess team, do some craft activities with the Nillumbik Living and Learning Centre, chill out with some stories from Yarra Plenty Regional Library and catch up with staff from the Brotherhood of St Laurence. NELLIE the CARAVAN for BREASTFEEDING MUMS Saturday 10 November Sunday 11 November Alistair Knox Park ‘Nellie’ the caravan will again be available at this year’s festival, courtesy of Banyule Council. Nellie will be located in the Chillout Zone and will be available to breastfeeding mums. ‘Nellie’ is the beloved mascot of Banyule City Council’s festivals and events. She can be found at all major festivals in Banyule usually as a cosy space for breastfeeding mums. Nellie has also been integral to a range of public art programs, artist residencies, even community consultation processes around Banyule across the years. She is a classic 1960s Australian designed, red and silver caravan. The Australian Breastfeeding Association will also have a marquee in the Chillout zone (Sunday only)

FACE PAINTING Saturday 10 November Alistair Knox Park Sunday 11 November Alistair Knox Park and Eltham Central Oval Children’s faces will be transformed at the festival with some fun and colourful face painting. Have a Go OvalCome and take part in Tiger Paw activities, check out the Richmond Football Club and Eltham Leisure Centre merchandise and Have a Go at lots of the other free activities available. As usual, the annual Rotary races will be run on the hour with lots of prizes up for grabs. Come and try mini golf, handball, basketball shootouts, tennis and self defence classes. Don’t forget to come and cheer on our local community groups as they fight for honours in the annual Tug of War at 12 noon.
