Eid Al-Adha Festival 2019
Hosted by Australian Islamic Centre
Aug 17 - Aug 18
Seaworks Maritime Precinct
82 Nelson Place, Williamstown
The Eid Festival celebrates the Muslim religious holiday Eid al-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice.
It all begun in 1997, the local community was growing, Eid time would arrive and our youth had no festival to go and enjoy themselves and celebrate Eid.
The Local mosque committee had realized the Gap in the community, a significant event where Muslims all over the world celebrate together. They took on the initiative of putting a festival together and have not looked back since.
Since its inception in 1997, a festival has been held every year attracting 1000's of people from all over Victoria to the event. Filled with rides and food stalls from many different cultures, the atmosphere is refreshing.
The unity and happiness are evident and the joy on the faces of the youth keeps this event alive year on year.
