Eel Feeding

Eel Feeding

Watch a writhing mass of hungry eels gobble up their lunch!

See the Shortfinned Eels in Milarri Pond enjoy their daily feed and learn about the importance of these fish to Australian Aboriginal people and our aquatic ecosystems.

You'll hear about the astonishing life cycle of Shortfinned Eels-a migration over thousands of kilometres down the east coast of Australia, and back again. You'll also see the animals that share the eel pond: native Silver Perch (Bidyanus bidyanus) and Macquarie Turtles (Emydura macquarii).
