Double Trouble - Slava and Leonard Grigoryan

Melbourne Musicians presents

Slava and Leonard Grigoryan
3pm, Sunday 18 November 2018
St Johns Southgate

The Melbourne Musicians directed by Frank U. Pam present a rare opportunity to hear internationally acclaimed guitarists Slava and Leonard Grigoryan with a string orchestra in intimate surroundings with excellent acoustics.

They will play two concertos arranged for two guitars by their father, violinist Edward Grigoryan. Handel Concerto Op.4, No.6 in B flat major was originally for organ or harp and Vivaldi Concerto in G major, RV 532, was written for Two Mandolins and Strings, but works very well with Two Guitars.

The brothers will display their seamless collaboration and brilliant technique in some unaccompanied items as well.

The orchestra will play Viennese dance music by Lanner, Schubert and Johann Strauss Senior and Junior in celebration of the director's birthday and his Viennese heritage.
