Dirty Words | Melbourne Fringe Festival

An all new, politically-charged rock cabaret, Dirty Words 'talks back' against the damaging rhetoric of fear and exclusion emerging in Australia.

It demands greater accountability from those in power, understanding that 'speaking up' for our future is not just a right, it's a responsibility.

Combining the raw energy of rock, the intimacy of cabaret and a touch of circus art, eight diverse, young artists, led by celebrated cabaret-comedienne Tara Dowler of 'controversial' (Herald Sun) feminist musical-comedy duo Pink Flappy Bits, will share stories, shake off expectations and expose the merging of the personal and the political in their everyday lives.

Interwoven with scintillating original music, Dirty Words explores how we find our voices in an increasingly divisive world; the conflicts that shape us and the communities we build that give us strength.
