Denise Keele-bedford draws significant influence from history - understood as a dynamic interplay of long- and short-term collective events, rituals, and personal memories. Her practice explores the richness and complexity of cultural and environmental diversity, with a particular focus on customs embedded within personal and societal belief systems.

Conceptually driven, Keele-bedford's work often takes the form of multiples that build into a series or stand as singular, impactful pieces. A versatile approach to media characterises her practice, with a strong emphasis on installation, printmaking, and the creative reuse of preloved materials. Whether through site-specific works or individual artworks, she thoughtfully incorporates materials such as textiles, paper, organic elements, found objects, ceramic, glass, and marble.

A formative influence on her creative development was her time working in Beijing, China, from 2005 to 2019. This extended studio practice immersed the artist in a dynamic cultural environment, shaping her aesthetic sensibilities and deepening her engagement with cross-cultural dialogue.

Extensive experience in international artist residencies, exhibition curatorship, and cultural exchange projects has further enriched her career, fostering a globally-informed and continually evolving artistic voice.
