“Visions of a Better World”

The 6th annual Transitions Film Festival returns to Melbourne this February with a powerful line-up of cutting-edge documentaries about the existential challenges, mega-trends, game-changing technologies, and creative visions that are redefining what it means to be human.

Showcasing inspirational documentaries about the solutions to society\\\'s greatest challenges, the program kicks off at Cinema Nova on the 16th of February and will run until the 3rd of March, before touring to Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide.

Highlights from this years festival include How to Let Go of The World and Love All the Things Climate Can\\\'t Change, from Oscar-nominated filmmaker Josh Fox (Gasland), RiverBlue, an ethical fashion adventure story, Wastecooking, a fun and quirky road trip about food, The Chocolate Case, a tale about a man who tries to have himself imprisoned for eating a bar of chocolate, The C Word, a film about fighting Cancer, from executive producer Morgan Freeman and Power to Change, Energy Rebellion, a portrait of the energy revolution in Germany.

Australian talent is on display with four local documentaries followed by film maker Q and A sessions, including RAW, the story of two 60 year olds who ran 366 consecutive marathons in an attempt to promote the benefits of a plant based diet, Our Power, the story of the Hazelwood mine fire and the transition to a clean energy economy, Esteem, an exploration of the relationship between psychology and environment, and The Bentley Effect, an epic tale of the Northern Rivers community and their fight against a fracking juggernaut.

The Transitions Film Festival is dedicated to showcasing inspirational documentaries about the social and technological innovations, revolutionary ideas and trailblazing change-makers that are leading the way to a better world.
