Located across Melbourne’s northern suburbs all campuses provide excellent resources and state of the art facilities and technology to deliver high quality training to students and industry. Campuses are within convenient reach by public transport, connecting them to Melbourne’s world-class culture, entertainment and international restaurants.

On top of all this, each campus has something extra special to boast about:

This Preston campus houses the head office of administration and management for NMIT. One of it’s main attractions is St Georges, a fully-licensed restaurant & bistro, considered one of Melbourne's premier hospitality training facilities.

The campus also incorporates some of the finest facilities in Tourism and Hospitality as well as courses in Visual Arts, Information Technology, Electrotechnology, Design & Drafting, Koorie Services, Health & Community Studies, Office Administration, Work Education, Language Studies and Commerce. It is only nine kilometres north of the CBD.

Another attraction of this campus is its proximity to the Preston Market which features healthy and cheap traditional foodstuffs from around the world.

NMIT's Heidelberg campus, 15 minutes from the CBD, is one of Victoria's major training centres in building trades, electronics and engineering.
Heidelberg's training facilities, which simulate real work environments, are popular with students and employers. The robotics simulation facility presents students with a challenge, as do the AutoCAD training centre and the plumbing classrooms equipped with the latest appliances and tools donated by industry.
The 'barn' boasts an eight metre roof and 1450 square metre floor space which is used for a variety of training purposes including the construction of full scale relocatable homes.

NMIT is the biggest provider of training to the agriculture sector with courses delivered from Epping located on the city's northern rural fringe. The campus is home to award winning cattle, welding workshops, a forklift training area and glass houses for herb production. It also hosts one of Victoria's few indoor recirculating aquaculture facilities. Nearby are NMIT's two impressive training farms, a farm at Yan Yean and a 60 hectare horse stud and 8 hectare vineyard, Northern Lodge in Eden Park. Courses offered include commerce, information technology, electronics, English language, visual arts and natural resource management.
