Werribee Park

10 hectares of open parkland and superbly manicured formal gardens surround Werribee Mansion. This area is referred to as Werribee Park and designed to compliment the mansion's grand design.

The gardens are widely attributed to W.R Guilfoyle, Curator of the Melbourne Botanic Gardens. His vision borrows from 19th century gardens of Great Britain and his legacy remains today in the form of a parterre garden, lake, grotto and glasshouses.

A recent addition to the grounds is the Werribee Park Sculpture Walk. Winding through the original farm and riverine, the Sculpture Walk features 29 works by Australia's leading sculptors, including selected winners of the national Helen Lempriere Sculpture Award.

Werribee Mansion is surrounded by 10 hectares of manicured formal gardens and open space parkland. Visit the original farm buildings, grotto and laundry, the European inspired parterre or find a spot to relax or picnic on the banks of Werribee River.

Things to Do

Werribee Mansion
The Italianate-style architecture and Victorian features of the 60 room Werribee Mansion are as inspiring today as they were when completed in 1877.

Werribee Park Sculpture Walk
29 works from prominent Australian sculptors, including winners of the Helen Lempriere National Sculpture Award are displayed at Werribee Park.

Werribee Park Heritage Orchard
The Werribee Park Heritage Orchard is the newest attraction at Werribee Park. Located near the farm buildings, 120 new trees at the recently restored orchard will grow apples, quinces, pears and stone fruits.
