The City of Melbourne has three public libraries - Melbourne City Library, East Melbourne Library, North Melbourne Library and Library Access @ Docklands.
The libraries offer a wide range of facilities, services and resources, including books, CDs, DVDs, magazines, journals and newspapers in a range of languages as well as electronic publications.

Library membership is free and open to anyone.
Melbourne Library Services
We offer free delivery of library material to people living in the City of Melbourne who are unable to visit their local library and also visit nursing homes and other institutions.
Local History Resources
Collections and history of the library include online Local History Databases, History of Your House, Publications for Sale, Local Historical Societies and Genealogical Links.

Recognising the need to develop a conduit between the rapidly growing Docklands community and the library service, City of Melbourne has established a pick-up and drop-off point at the Docklands Hub.
Library members can collect reserved library items during Hub hours of operation and return library items any time, through the returns chute.
The Hub also offers free wireless Internet access, comfortable lounges and a regular story time as well as an important link to Melbourne Library Service.
